Extensive Brain Calcif & Prog Dysarthris & Dysphagia Assoc with Chronic Hypoparathyroidism Arch Neurol 47:1038-1039, Cheek,J.C.,et al, 1990 See this aricle in Pubmed Article Abstract An 81-year-old woman with a 13-year history of hypoparathyroidism developed dysarthria and dysphagia.Cranial computed tomography demonstrated extensive calcification involving the basal ganglia,corona radiata,and deep cerebellar structures.The cerebral small-vessel calcification that occurs in chronic hypoparathyroidism may produce the syndrome of progressive dysarthria and dysphagia.
