Multivariate analyses showed that low HDL cholesterol, male sex, smoking, hypertension, and oral contraceptives were risk factors for intracerebral arterial occlusion. Low HDL cholesterol must be considered in the care management of young patients regardless of the detectable presence of atherosclerosis. |
