In infratentorial strokes, multiple DWI lesions and a distribution of subsidiary, clinically silent DWI lesions in the anterior circulation suggest a cardioembolic stroke etiology. However, DWI lesion volume did not correlate with the NIHSS score and was no predictor of outcome. |
