MRI is better than CT for detection of acute ischemia, and can detect acute and chronic haemorrhage; therefore it should be the preferred test for accurate diagnosis of patients with suspected acute stroke. Because our patients sample encompassed the range of diseases that is likely to be encountered in emergency cases of suspected stroke, our results are directly applicable to clinical practice. |
