Article Abstract
We conducted a retrospective study of 116 hospitalized psychiatric patients treated with neuroleptic drugs.Nineteen of 45 cocaine users(42%) and 10 of 71 nonusers(14%)developed dystonic reactions during their hospitalizations.Based on this statistically significant finding,we suggest that cocaine use is a major risk factor for acute dystonic reactions.
