Regional Ischemic & Ischemic Injury in Pts with Acute Mid Cereb Art Stroke as Defined by Early Diffusion-Wt & Perfusion-Wt MRI Stroke 29:939-943, Rordorf,G.,et al, 1998 See this aricle in Pubmed Article Abstract Most patients with MI occlusion showed progression of infarction into the region of the abnormal perfusion.In contrast,patients with open MI had strokes consistent with distal branch occlusion and had maximal extent of injury on DWI at initial presentation.Application of these MRI techniques should improve definition of different acute stroke syndromes and facilitate clinical decision making.
