Article Abstract
The association between migraine and cervical artery dissection (CAD) was explored in a hospital-based case-control study. Migraine was present in 49.1% (23/47) of patients with CAD and in 21% (11/52) of patients hospitalized for a cerebral ischemic even not related to a CAD (adjusted odds ratio = 3.6; 1.5 to 8.6, p = 0.005). This result supports the hypothesis that an underlying arterial wall disease could be a predisposing condition for migraine.
